Chlorosulfonated Polyethylene
Kautschuk.com Product ID 0016-3
Poly-CSM 40 is produced by reaction of chlorine and sulfur dioxide with high-pressure
polyethylene under the aid of UV radiation.
Poly-CSM 40 is widely used in the production of calendered sheeting, and extruded and
moulded rubber goods. Because of its flame resistance Poly-CSM 40 has many
applications in the wire- and cable industry.
Due to its fully saturated polymer chain, vulcanisates based on Poly-CSM 40 provide with
an excellent resistance against ozone and weathering, heat, oil, and many chemicals.
Poly-CSM 40 also offers a very low gas permeability, compared to other elastomers
especially at elevated temperatures.
