For a number of years IsoQure^® Terrafix has proved most successful as a soil stabilizing agent and erosion preventive in the hydroseeding of fairly barren soils.

IsoQure^® Terrafix is based on a special liquid polymer combined with auxiliaries such as wetting agents, driers (accelerating oxygen uptake) and defoaming agents. IsoQure^® Terrafix is emulsified in water and then spray-applied to the surface to be protected where it penetrates up to 20 mm in depth, depending on the absorbency of the soild substrate.

After its application, IsoQure^® Terrafix reacts with atmospheric oxygen and within a few hours a firm, water-insoluble network is formed. As a result all wet particles such as sand grains, fertilizer, seed and other materials become bound to the surface. This way of fixing has the furter advantage of preventing the fertilizer from being rapidly washed out into the subsoil. The fertilizer is accessible for a considerably longer period to the plants and is thus utilized more efficiently.

The cured IsoQure^® Terrafix does not seal the soil surface - indeed the soil's absorbency for rain is fully maintained by the open matrix-like character of its bound and stabilized structure. Germination and plant growth remain unimpaired.

IsoQure^® Terrafix is being using in the following fields: waste tips, steep slopes, ski pistes, areas of dredged-up sand, refuse dumps, ash deposits, coal and ore tips, recreation and sports grounds, vegetation sustained by roofs.
