IsoQure® TT cn
Chemical name: 1,3-bis(3-isocyanato-4-methylphenyl)-1,3-diazetidin-2,4-dione
CAS Number: 26747-90-0
EINECS Number: 247-953-0
Material Definition
Appearance: White powder
TDI-Monomer: Max. 0,10 %
Melting Point: > 145° C
NCO-content: 22,5 - 24,5 %
Volatile Matter: Max 0.5%
Application
IsoQure® TT cn has the ability to react under different molecular weights: Under mild reaction conditions, i.e. when reacted with aliphatic hydroxyl groups at temperatures < 140°C in the absence of basic catalysts or with primary or secondary amino groups at room temperature, it is primarily bi-functional and has a molecular weight of 348.
Under severe conditions, either reacted at temperatures > 150°C or at lower temperatures with the aid of highly basic catalysts, it still reacts bi-functional but with a molecular weight of 174 (that of monomeric TDI).
Use Cases
Adhesion promoter for rubber to fabric bonding, especially for polyester cord or reinforcing fabric for i.e. conveyor belts.
Adhesion promoter for PVC to fabric bonding, i.e. for the production of light-weight conveyor belts for the food industry or for plastisol-coated fabric.
Vulcanising agent for natural and synthetic rubber, especially for polyurethane rubber like Urepan 600.
Crosslinker for heat-activated polyurethane coatings, sealants, adhesives, and elastomers.
Handling, Storage and Packaging
IsoQure® TT cn is stable for at least one year when stored in sealed original packing at temperatures below 30°C without exposure to sunlight.
Standard pack size is in 15 kg cardboard boxes.
