IsoQure® ZnO 15 RA
Chemical name: Zinc oxide / zinc hydroxide on calcium sulfate carrier (mixture)
CAS Number: Mixture (zinc oxide: 1314-13-2; calcium sulfate: 7778-18-9)
EINECS Number: Mixture (zinc oxide: 215-222-5; calcium sulfate: 231-900-3)
IsoQure® ZnO 15 RA is a composite zinc oxide / zinc hydroxide activator on a calcium sulfate carrier. It is designed as a cost-efficient, more environmentally friendly replacement for conventional zinc oxide white seal and red seal grades in rubber compounding.
Material Definition
Appearance: White to yellowish powder
Zinc oxide / Hydroxide content: Approx. 40 %
Calcium sulfate: 55 ± 5 %
Heavy metals as Pb2+: ≤ 0.002 %
Copper as Cu2+: ≤ 0.001 %
Cadmium as Cd2+: ≤ 0.001 %
Specific surface area: Approx. 15 m²/g
Application
IsoQure® ZnO 15 RA is suitable as an activator for a wide range of rubber products and can replace standard zinc oxide grades at typical dosages of 4–6 phr, depending on the compound recipe. Recommended applications include:
In shoe outsole formulations it can improve modulus, hardness, tensile strength and transparency. In bicycle inner tubes it provides scorch time and cure time comparable to zinc oxide white seal with similar mechanical properties. In bicycle tyres it can reduce cure time while maintaining scorch safety and delivering modulus, hardness and tensile strength comparable to zinc oxide white seal.
Handling, Storage and Packaging
The processing and use of IsoQure® ZnO 15 RA require adequate technical and professional knowledge. Please consult the safety data sheet and observe local safety regulations. The legal requirements prevailing in your country, especially regarding accident prevention, industrial hygiene and patent rights, must be observed.
IsoQure® ZnO 15 RA should be stored in tightly sealed original containers in a cool and dry place. When properly stored it remains stable for an extended period; observe the indicated retest date on the product label.
