Isolan FRW
Isolan FRW is an efficient, halogen-free and antimony-free flame retardant compound for the first and third white layer with a black-out layer in the middle. It can also be used for other technical coatings.
Material Definition
Solid content: 38 - 42%
Brookfield Viscosity @25°C: 1,250-3,000 mPa.s
pH value: 5.0 - 7.5
Density: 1.09 g/cm^3
Application
Isolan FRW is administered using the knife-over-roll coating technique and then dried at temperatures between 80 – 120°C prior to crushing. For the first and third layers, Isolan FRW aims for low dry add-on weights, typically in the range of 30 – 40 gsm dry. Standard foam ratios lie between 100 – 150 g/l. Before the coating process, it's crucial to verify the viscosity and mix the compound thoroughly.
Applying pre-treatment of the fabric with repellent products to oversee coating penetration is not advised. After applying the final third layer, there's no need for post-curing at elevated temperatures. If there's a requirement to enhance the whiteness level, specific dyes can be incorporated into the third layer, provided it's suitable.
The quantity of Isolan FRW required to achieve satisfactory fire retardant results can differ based on various parameters like the flammability test, the substrate's makeup and structure, the type of other auxiliaries, additives, or finishes, among other considerations. It's essential to ascertain these specifics in a laboratory environment beforehand. Common application standards include FAR25853 and DIN4102-B2.
Storage
The optimum storage and handling temperature range is 5 °C to 30 °C. The product must be protected from heat and frost in order to maintain viability. Containers must not be re-stocked after they have been opened. Properly stored, Isolan FRW is stable for at least 12 months after the shipment has left our warehouse.
Packaging
Isolan FRW is available in IBCs (1000kg each) and drums (210kg each). MoQ are 2 pallets with 8 drums each or 1 IBC.
